Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Glowit.io is operated by Noam Nissan, Israel. Contact: privacy@glowit.io.

These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data, our Cookie Policy and our Refund Policy.

2. What the service is

Glowit lets you build trivia quizzes, generate questions with AI, and run a live game that participants join from their phones with a room code.

The service can be used for free. Alongside the free plan there are paid plans (subscriptions) with higher allowances, as shown on the site. Their terms are set out in the "Paid plans" section below.

The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee continuous availability, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we ever decide to shut the service down entirely, we will announce it in advance so you have time to export your quizzes.

3. Paid plans

• Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
• A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on where you live.
• Refunds and cancellations are covered by our Refund Policy.
• We may change our prices. A price change applies only from the next billing period, and we will tell you about it by email in advance.

4. Age and school use

To open an account and run games you must be at least 16, or at least 13 where the law where you live permits it and a parent or legal guardian has approved.

Joining a game as a player requires no account and no email, and has no age limit. Players type only a nickname, which is shown to the host and the other players in the room, and the live room is deleted automatically within about three hours after the game.

If you run Glowit in an educational setting, you confirm that you have the authority to do so, that the use complies with your institution's policy, and that you have told students not to enter their full name or other identifying details as a nickname.

5. Your account

• Sign-in goes through a Google account. Keeping that account secure is your responsibility.
• Do not share your account, impersonate another person or organisation, or create multiple accounts to get around usage limits.
• We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. For a breach that is not serious, we will tell you and give you a chance to put it right.
• You can delete your account yourself at any time from your dashboard. Deletion is permanent.

6. Content you create

The quizzes, questions, images and text you upload remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

• By saving content on the platform you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display it solely in order to run the service for you and for the participants in your games.
• If you mark a quiz as public, you grant a further licence to display it to other users and let them play it. You can unmark it at any time.
• You confirm that you hold the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademarks or privacy.
• Deleting content from your dashboard removes it from the service. Technical backup copies may take a short while to clear.

7. Use of artificial intelligence

The question-generation feature is powered by AI models from Google and Groq. The questions, answers and explanations it produces are generated automatically and may be wrong, inaccurate or out of context.

AI question generation is available only to users aged 18 or over, as the AI provider's terms require. Before your first generation we ask you to confirm this, and you can change your answer at any time. The rest of the service is available without it.

Checking every question before using it in a classroom, a test or an event is entirely your responsibility. Do not treat AI-generated content as an authoritative factual source.

You may not use the feature to generate offensive, discriminatory, misleading or unlawful content. Doing so will get your account blocked.

AI usage limits (the monthly quota, the reward for watching an ad) may change in line with operating costs.

The monthly AI question allowance resets at the start of each month; unused questions do not carry over. Gift questions (for watching an ad or for joining the mailing list) are a separate balance, and each gift expires 3 months after you receive it.

8. Rules of conduct

While using the service you must not:

• Use nicknames or content that are offensive, racist, sexual, threatening or harassing.
• Post content that infringes a third party's copyright, trademarks or privacy.
• Attempt to disrupt the service: deliberate overload, intrusion, circumventing security controls or abusing usage limits.
• Use bots, scripts or automation to play, accumulate score, or farm AI credits.
• Enter game rooms you were not invited to, or scan for room codes.
• Systematically scrape content from the service or reuse it commercially without our permission.

9. Copyright infringement notice

If you believe content on Glowit infringes your copyright, send a notice to privacy@glowit.io including: identification of the protected work, the exact address of the infringing content on Glowit, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.

We review every such notice and remove infringing content within a reasonable time. Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright will be blocked.

10. Advertising and rewards

Glowit shows no advertising on content pages, on marketing pages, or during a live game. The only ad in the service is an optional rewarded ad inside the question-generation screen, triggered by a deliberate click, which grants extra AI questions.

That ad is served by Google AdSense and loads only if you have allowed advertising cookies in your privacy settings.

Attempting to defraud the reward mechanism in any way will void the credits and get the account blocked.

11. Our intellectual property

The design, code, name, logo and Glowit brand belong to us. Do not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute parts of the service without prior written permission.

Other product names mentioned on the site, including Kahoot, Quizizz, Mentimeter, Gimkit and Blooket, are trademarks of their respective owners. Glowit is not associated with, affiliated with or endorsed by them.

12. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as-is and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

In any event, our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in this clause excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or any rights granted to consumers by mandatory law where they live.

13. Email and communications

We will send you service messages about your account and your use of the service. These are part of the service and are not advertising.

Marketing content and product updates are sent only if you have given a separate, explicit opt-in. That consent is not a condition of using the service, and you can withdraw it at any time from your dashboard or via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.

For the purposes of section 30A of the Israeli Communications (Telecommunications and Broadcasting) Law, 1982, this consent is given separately from acceptance of these terms and constitutes consent to receive advertising material until you tell us to stop.

14. Ending the relationship

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account yourself from the dashboard.

We may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these terms, activity that endangers the service or other users, or a legal requirement. The intellectual property and limitation of liability clauses survive termination.

If we close a paid account that has not breached these terms, or shut down the service entirely, we will refund the pro-rata share of the period you paid for and did not use.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be published here with a new update date, and for significant changes we will also notify you by email or in the app.

Continuing to use the service after a change is published means you accept the updated version. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of the Tel Aviv district have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the UK or another country whose law grants you mandatory protections, this clause does not affect your right to bring proceedings where you live or to rely on the mandatory protections of the law there.

If any clause of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses stay in force.
