Online Team Building Quiz: 40+ Questions, Agendas and Team Scoring (Free)
A good team building quiz is not about who knows the most - it is about talking, laughing and solving things together. This page gives you a ready plan for an online or hybrid team quiz: three agendas (30, 45 and 60 minutes), a team-versus-team scoring method, more than 40 questions with answers across business history, teamwork in sport and nature, and work terms, plus prompts you fill in about your own team.
Run it as a live game with Glowit: the questions appear on a shared screen or a screen-share on Zoom, Teams or Meet, everyone answers on their own phone with a 5-digit room code, and a leaderboard after each question builds up to the final podium. No app and no sign-up for players; the free plan covers the whole game, with up to 200 players. Looking for icebreaker rounds and brain teasers as well? Host a team quiz freeHow to run an online team building quiz
- Build the quiz in Glowit (or start from the questions below) and open the game. A 5-digit room code appears on the host screen.
- Share your screen on Zoom, Teams or Meet, or show it on a meeting-room TV for hybrid teams, and post the room code in the chat.
- Everyone joins at glowit.io from a phone or a laptop browser and picks a nickname - a team prefix such as 'Red - Sam' keeps teams easy to read.
- Read each question aloud, let the timer run, and use the answer reveal and leaderboard as a natural moment to chat.
- Finish on the podium, then sum up the team scores and announce the winning team.
Pick an agenda: 30, 45 or 60 minutes
- 30 minutes: 2 rounds of 10 questions (one business, one teamwork) plus a 5-question round about your own team. Best before a regular meeting.
- 45 minutes: 3 rounds of 10 questions, a short team-name break and the podium. Good for a monthly all-hands or a team social.
- 60 minutes: 4 rounds of 10 questions, a 'guess the colleague' round and a two-minute break in the middle. Good for an offsite or a kickoff.
- Use a 20-second timer for most questions and 30 seconds for the hardest, and keep the first round easy so everyone scores early.
Team-versus-team scoring
For a mixed team quiz, split people into teams of 4 to 6 and let each person answer on their own phone. Glowit ranks individuals live, so add up each team's top scores (for example the best three players per team) to keep large and small teams fair. Alternatively, give each team one shared phone and one captain who locks in the answer after a short discussion - this is the best format when you want people to actually talk to each other.

Tips for remote and hybrid teams
- Hybrid: put the in-room people on a team together and the remote people on another, or mix them with one screen-sharer per team, so nobody is a spectator.
- Keep cameras optional. The phone does the answering, so there is no need for everyone to be on video.
- Post the room code in the meeting chat and on the screen, and let late joiners in until the first question starts.
- Time zones: a 30-minute quiz at the start of a meeting works better than a long late-day event.
- Celebrate the last-place team too - a joke prize keeps the mood light.
